Hi, my name is Michelle and I have been teaching, doing and enjoying art for a number of years in a studio I built from scratch. Recently moved to the Jimboomba area, I am starting a new art space.

Art has a funny way of sending your life on different tangents. My life with art has done the same. From regular classes in a big studio to a small intimate studio for only a hand full of students. From commissions far and wide to creating pieces of art to print.

Over the past 20 years, I have had art as a key part of my growth. I have taught in many mediums to many ages and abilities, practiced as an art therapist and completed many commissions.

Through the years my focus has often shifted and I love exploring different avenues of expression. Books have always been something I am drawn to and when I started making them, it gave more satisfaction than I would have guessed.

Topics that have inspired my designs, have been fantasy based with a touch of historical influence. These would include wizards and witches, paganism, magic, mystical creatures and beasts, Faerie folk, spiritual healing and earth connections.

Artists and stories have also influenced my designs. Brian Fraud is to name but one artist behind the characters based in the movies, The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth.

And the one common item that has been present in all, is a special book. And that’s where it all started for me.
